1834 Hotels Appointed to Manage Iconic K’gari Resorts for Kelsian and SeaLink

1834 Hotels is proud to announce its appointment as the new management company for the renowned K’gari assets — Kingfisher Bay Resort and K’gari Beach Resort — on behalf of Kelsian Group and SeaLink. Effective 1 August 2025, 1834 Hotels will assume full operational management of both resorts, strengthening its position as a trusted partner for asset owners seeking to enhance value and optimise operations.

K’gari, formerly known as Fraser Island, is one of Australia’s most treasured natural destinations and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The appointment forms part of a strategic arrangement designed to enhance operational efficiencies and maximise the value of SeaLink’s assets during an orderly divestment process. This collaboration combines the strength and resources of 1834 Hotels with SeaLink’s objectives, upholding the high-quality standards synonymous with the SeaLink and Kelsian Group.

Importantly, SeaLink will continue to operate all marine and touring services to and on K’gari, with support from 1834 Hotels as needed to ensure a seamless and integrated guest experience across land and sea.

Andrew Bullock, Chief Executive Officer of 1834 Hotels, said:
“We are honoured to be entrusted with the management of such significant Australian tourism assets. Our proven track record in driving operational excellence and sustainable value aligns perfectly with the vision Kelsian and SeaLink have for K’gari’s future. We look forward to working with the local community and existing teams to deliver memorable stays that respect and showcase this extraordinary destination.”

Donna Gauci, Chief Executive Officer of SeaLink Marine & Tourism, added:
“Our focus is on ensuring the K’gari resorts continue to deliver the exceptional experiences that our guests expect while positioning the assets for future success. 1834 Hotels’ expertise and national scale make them the ideal partner for this next chapter, and we are confident this collaboration will maintain the high standards SeaLink is known for and provide ongoing strong leadership for the K’gari team.

This appointment marks a major milestone for 1834 Hotels, expanding its national portfolio to more than 4,000 keys open or under construction. The management transition will be carefully planned and executed, with 1834 Hotels collaborating closely with current resort teams to maintain service continuity for guests and staff alike.

This milestone further strengthens 1834 Hotels’ growing presence across Australia, demonstrating the group’s commitment to partnering with owners to unlock the full potential of their tourism assets through strategic, efficient, and value-focused management
