Now Underway: A Bold Redevelopment
The reinstatement of Stonelea Estate is now in progress, led by Bennett Williams with investment from the Victorian Government’s Regional Tourism Investment Fund.
The project will transform the former estate into a design-led, premium escape, featuring:
- Boutique hotel accommodation
- Elevated food and wine experiences
- Elegant event and wedding spaces
- Restored restaurant, bar, and ceremonial hall
- Landscaped gardens and upgraded guest facilities
Local builder Hedger Constructions has been appointed to deliver the renovation and fit-out. Works are already underway across the hotel and bungalows, with the main building to follow.

This redevelopment is proudly supported by Murrindindi Shire Council, Tourism North East, Alexandra Traders & Tourism Association, and Murrindindi Food & Wine Inc. Together, they recognise the important role Stonelea will play in attracting more visitors, extending overnight stays, and supporting the local economy.
Opening Mid 2026
National hotel management group 1834 Hotels has been appointed to manage operations, bringing hospitality and tourism expertise to the project.
